Budget My Income Tool

The Budget My Income tool will help you to create a budget for your income. If you are spending
more money than you are making, you are digging yourself a grave of debt. As you accumulate more debt,
you will have to divert a larger and larger portion of your income to servicing your debt (or paying the interest charges).
This tool helps you orient your spending towards the necessities (housing, food, transportation, insurance and maybe even
a little entertainment) and provide you with a solid guide to measure your expenses against.
Enter your income after taxes. In the list, enter the your budget categories or select the Suggest Categories
button to pick from 24 predefined categories:
Check the boxes of the categories you want to add to your budget and then select the Select button. Your selected categories will be added to the list.
For each category assign an amount or percent of your total amount. As you assign
amounts to each budget category the "Remaining" value will go down. If it goes negative, you are spending or allocating
more money to your expenses than you earn each month. The only way to pay for the additional expenses is credit or debt.
Once you have entered your budget categories you can print a budget list by list order, alphabetical order, or by highest allocation. Select the Print Budget button to open the print window:
As you review your monthly finances and expenses, compare the total amounts in each category with the amounts you allocated in your
budget. If you are spending too much in any area you may need to take a closer look at your expenses and determine what is
necessary and what can be cut out. Some categories may always run a surplus. You will need to adjust your budget allocations to
accommodate actual expenses for the category or to reflect an increase or decrease in income.
You may create multiple budgets for yourself or family and friends by selecting the New button:
Enter a name for the new budget and select the OK button.
Select the Open File button to open a selection window and choose the budget to work with:
Select the budget from the list and then select the Select button.
